On the Trail of Lucy: a collaborative exploration of Australopithecus
September 19 - 7PM Keynote Lecture with Bernard Wood of George Washington University
September 20 - Public Symposium Cleveland Museum of Natural History
On the Trail of Lucy will bring together many of the world’s foremost physical anthropologists for an in-depth investigation of the genus Australopithecus. A dozen experts from over ten field sites will share their research on locomotion, diet, habitat, and the social structure of the earliest Australopithecines, and the new imaging techniques that are advancing the field of paleoanthropology. This fascinating program of research and discovery will provide a better understanding of human origins, while focusing on a specific piece of the evolutionary puzzle - Australopithecus.
These events are a collaboration between The Leakey Foundation, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the Institute for the Science of Origins, and ideastream.
